Download Metaphor for your Mac and connect your first project.

## Before you begin

You’ll need:

- A Mac with Apple Silicon.
- A GitHub account.
- Claude Code or Codex installed on your machine.

## Install the app

1. **Download Metaphor**

    Get the app from the [download page](https://withmetaphor.com/download).

2. **Open the app**

    Open the downloaded file. Move Metaphor to Applications if prompted, then
    launch it.

3. **Sign in**

    Follow the prompt to sign in with GitHub and create your Metaphor account.

Metaphor is currently available for macOS on Apple Silicon.

## Connect your project

Choose which repositories Metaphor can access. You can start with
one and add more later.

1. **Connect GitHub**

    Start the GitHub connection from Metaphor. You’ll be taken to GitHub to
    approve access.

2. **Choose your repositories**

    Select the repositories you want to work on and approve the installation.

3. **Return to Metaphor**

    Your connected repositories will be available when you create a task.
